  • India’s shuttler P V Sindhu has settled for a bronze medal in women’s singles category at the BWF World Championships 2013
  • Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the 100 metre sprint title at the 14th IAAF World Championships 2013, Moscow on 11 August 2013.
  • Sagarika Ghosh on 11 August 2013 won the Cadet Girls singles title
  • Serena Williams defeated Romania’s Sorana Cirstea 6-2 6-0 in the final match of women’s Rogers Cup on 11 August 2013.

  • Indian duo, Purav Raja and Divij Sharan won ATP tour doubles title at Claro Open in Bogota, Colombia. They defeated the French-Dutch pair by 7-6(4), 7-6(3).
  • India won the West Indies Tri-Nation Series by one wicket. The final was played between India and Sri Lanka at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.
  • ICC on 11 July 2013 announced that Shane Warne would be inducted into the ICC cricket hall of fame.
