  • India successfully test fired the indigenously developed surface to surface Agni-1 missile from the Odisha Coast.
  • An Introduction to Urdu Poetry, written by Anees Ayesha and translated in English by Zafar Anjum was launched at the Singapore Writers Festival.

  • Retired bureaucrat Krishna Mohan Sahni was appointed Chairman of the National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (NMCE) on 12 November 2013.
  • India declared itself free from Notifiable Avian Influenza (H5N1) and has notified the same to the World Organisation for Animal Health.
  • Mohammed Siddikur of Bangladesh won the 50th edition of Indian Open golf tournament on 10 November 2013 at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC), New Delhi
  • The Commonwealth Business Forum was inaugurated by the President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa in Colombo on 12 November 2013.
  • Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal in the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals title at the O2 Arena in London.
  • Ratan P Watal was appointed as the Secretary of Department of Expenditure in the Union Ministry of Finance.
  • RBI has opened a refinance window of 5000 crore rupees for the MSME sector. The facility has been planned to ease the liquidity of MSMEs.

  • The Government of India approved 20 proposals of FDI that amounts 915.83 crore rupees on the recommendation of FIPB.
  • RBI on 19 November 2013 directed Public Sector Banks (PSBs) to provide loans to women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at 7 per cent per annum.

  • Mars Orbiter Mission has sent the first set of pictures of Earth. It has captured the cyclonic storm Helen, the Indian subcontinent and parts of Africa.
  • Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to score 5000 runs in one-day internationals when he scored 86 against the West Indies on 21 November 2013.
  • Jet Airways on 20 November 2013 concluded the sale of 24 per cent equity stake in the airline to Etihad Airways for 2057 crore Rupees.
